Two Threads intertwine through my creative life. Foremost is my practice as an embroidery artist whose passion lies in creating narrative artworks based on personal drawings, marks and imagery. I enjoy the solitude of hand stitching all my work, and timeworn fabrics have always been at the heart of my work.
Another is that of designer of slow-stitch projects, templates and kits.
Both are deeply informed by my approach to making by hand and from the heart, as well as by my signature drawing style. This is the singular, personal imagery I have developed over the years. It is loved by a loyal and international following, many of whom collect my growing and ever-changing collection of embroidery templates, stitch projects and patterns, which I sell worldwide from my online shop.
In today’s disposable and fast-paced world, my embroidery kits and projects offer a moment to stitch calmly and make something with your hands, away from the demands of modern life.
I also create stitch guides, and have written a practical embroidery book, Journal with Thread (David & Charles Publishing, 2024), which celebrates my work as an embroidery artist, designer, teacher and collector.
